My mum used to hit me with a spatula, until I gave her a black eye for Mother's Day. That really shifted the hierarchy of the household.

As for me, I was occasionally spanked on the butt or slapped on the face. It seemed as though objects were never at hand when I was being naughty! (Ohhh that's so not the case now!
